This is something I would recommend checking with your insurance company. A lot of extended health care benefits cover massage therapy, but depending on your package, you may only be covered up to a certain dollar amount or percentage.
-
Do you offer gift certificates?

Can I bring my baby to my appointment?
Yes, I provide a baby friendly space and offer a playpen or baby seat for your convenience. Please let me know prior to your appointment so I can have this set up.
-
What is your cancellation policy?
Your appointment time is reserved just for you. A late cancellation or missed visit leaves a hole in the therapists' day that could have been filled by another patient. As such, we require 24 hours notice for any cancellations or changes to your appointment. Patients who provide less than 24 hours notice, or miss their appointment, will be charged the full amount.
-
What happens if I'm late to my appointment?
I ask that you arrive 5 minutes prior to your appointment time so you are on the table at the start of your appointment. Unfortunately, if you arrive late your time will be cut and you will be expected to pay the full price of the massage.
-
I'm really early for my appointment, can I come in?
I may be with another patient so please do not come earlier than 10 minutes before your scheduled appointment time. Please ring the doorbell and wait outside until I let you in.

No, there are three large steps leading up to my house, plus stairs to my basement.

Is massage painful?
The short answer is, it can be, but I hope it isn't. I tell my patients that I do not want to cause them pain. If at any point you are uncomfortable with my pressure, please let me know and I will adjust it.

Massage can be an essential part of injury prevention and improved quality of life. Whether you have stress (mental and/or physical), acute or chronic pain, or just general tension, massage can help in alleviating these issues.
-
How often should I come for a massage?
At the end of your first visit, I will suggest a customized treatment plan for you depending on your needs. Typically, coming for massage once a month is recommended for those individuals who do not have any issues, and more regularly if you have a specific area of focus.

-
I have a skin condition, will that affect my massage?
No, unless it is contagious or painful. I work with patients with psoriasis, eczema, acne, etc. I've seen a lot so don't let that stop you from getting a massage.
-
I don't like being touched by strangers and I don't think I will like a massage, should I still come?
I get it, touch is very intimate. Consent is very important, so at the beginning of your first appointment I clearly explain the process of where I will be touching. If there are any areas you are uncomfortable with me touching or would like me to avoid, please let me know. I do my best to be very open and communicate with you to make sure my touch is comforting and nurturing to you. Human touch is very powerful and I urge you to speak with me about your concerns.
